Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Gabriel Medina graduated as a filmmaker in 1999. He has worked as a producer, editor, writer and director for television, and as assistant director and scriptwriter for film.
In 2008, Medina premiered his debut film, Los Paranoicos, which gained international acclaim and awards at different festivals.
Four years later, in 2012, he premiered his second feature: La araña vampiro, also very well received and critically acclaimed, winner of Best Argentine Film in the international competition and Best Actor in BAFICI 2012. The film had its world premiere at Sitges Film Festival in the same year. La araña vampiro continues to be screened internationally.
In 2015, he premiered the 13-episode fiction series Bs As bajo el cielo de Orión.
Medina is currently working on his third feature Los Psiquiatras, works as a scriptwriter and teaches film writing and directing.
