The Italian Championship, a preliminary for the Dance World Cup, was held in Rome during the weekend of May 7-10.

The couple of Bruno Ciarfella & Alessandra Moro in "Dance-Floor Tango" and dancers Michele Lobefaro & Emanuela Benaggiano (Puglia) in "Stage Tango" were crowned champions at the 4th edition of the Italian Championship, held from May 7 to 10 at Barrio Arte, in Rome. Also stepping up to the podium were Luca Morale & Francesca Santangelo, from Campania (2nd place), and Alessandro Cavallaro & Marcella Monaco, from Lazio (3rd place), in "Dance-Floor Tango"; and Matteo Antonietti & Ludovica Antonietti, from Marche (2nd place), and Luca Morale & Francesca Santangelo, from Campania (3rd place) in "Stage Tango".
