After a successful first edition in the last FIBA, the film section returns to serve as a bridge between two arts that are very much related. In this opportunity, there will be a good amount of local offerings by young filmmakers featured at BAFICI, and a number of gems from abroad. Germany brings a spotlight on Andres Veiel. Austria offers Los últimos testigos, a filmed version of the stage production that recovers the voices of Holocaust victims. From France come a documentary about Ariane Mnouchkine and the Théâtre du Soleil, and the version of Racine’s classic Phèdre made by Patrice Chéreau. In addition, the section premieres the documentary about IX FIBA, featuring Darío Lopérfido in interviews with several participating foreign directors and excerpts from their shows.
