The 10th Festival Internacional de Buenos Aires, a great event for the performing arts of the 21st century, came to an end with the stunning performance of Macbeth at Teatro Colón.
The standing ovation from a full house at Teatro Colón, at the end of Sunday night’s performance of Macbeth, was an ideal closing to the 2015 edition of FIBA. The festival offered 18 full days of quality programming, including national and international productions as well as activities, meetings and workshops with theatre makers from Argentina and abroad, at 30 venues across the City. In total, more than 55 thousand people participated in this celebration of the performing arts which, in words of Artistic Director Darío Lopérfido, is “surely a well-established festival, an intellectual exercise aimed at spectators which offers activities that stimulate reflection rather than imposing judgments.” From the opening night at Parque Sarmiento with Groupe F to the closing evening at Teatro Colón with South African company Third World Bunfight, there have been so many great moments on stage, but also at the discussions, market sessions, and workshops that were highly attended by the artists and general public.
