Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires

Organized by the Ministry of Culture of the City of Buenos Aires, the Festival Internacional de Buenos Aires was created in 1997with the purpose of bringing the world’s leading performing artists to a city with a major theatrical activity. In 2015, FIBA will celebrateits tenth edition with a program that ensures its commitment to reflecting the new trends of contemporary drama. Every two years, Buenos Aires hosts a two-week celebration featuring international and national productions of varied styles and genres, outdoor performances, workshops, roundtables, and dialogues with the creators. The Festival also includes book releases, film screenings and visual art exhibitions in relation to theatre, the Germán Rozenmacher Award for New Drama Writing, and meeting sessions between local artists and foreign programmers to stimulate the export of theater from Buenos Aires. The city breathes performing arts, and artists and theatergoers alike are invited to take part in one of Latin America’s major theater events.
