The Universidad del Cine organizes the 10th edition of Talents Buenos Aires, which will be held from April 17 to 21, 2015. In this anniversary edition, 72 young film professionals—directors, scriptwriters, photographers, editors, producers, sound designers, actors, critics and journalists from South America—selected among more than 1,700 candidates, will participate in workshops, masterclasses and screenings over five days.
Established as a major meeting and reflection place for film students and young professionals from South America, in its tenth year, the Talents Buenos Aires offers the possibility to discover and take a close look at the latest trends in contemporary cinema from both a theoretical and practical perspective.
The Talent Campus was founded in 2003, in the framework of the Berlin Festival. It was originally created as a platform for young filmmakers from different regions to network among themselves and with experienced professionals, as they take their first steps in the film industry. Once its activity became established at a worldwide level, the experience was extended to other continents, and Buenos Aires was the first venue outside Europe. And so, since 2005, the Berlinale Talent Campus has been choosing the City’s Universidad del Cine to host the Talent Campus Buenos Aires, in the framework of the BAFICI, seeking to facilitate the access of South American young professionals to the film industry.
The aim of the Talents is to provide theoretical knowledge and practical training to young professionals from South America, while also offering a professional networking platform to come into direct contact with the regional film industry. At the same time, participants are given the opportunity to work on their own projects with specialized experts and complement their experience in the field by participating in the 17th BAFICI.
