After directing several music videos (by El Otro Yo, Leo García, and more) director Nicky Pintos moved to a more suitable format for a band like Attaque 77: the documentary. And so, he embarked on this journey as a director. The seminal punk rock band deserved a feature-length film that would portray its almost thirty years on the stage, and that resulted in Más de un millón, a title that refers to one of the band’s songs and its intention to prolong themselves into history. Without falling into any common (and boring) places of the documentary genre, the colorful interviews to every celebrity who was directly linked to the Attaque 77’s growth doesn’t get mixed up with old overused archive footage: it’s about them, today. Today, when they look back in order to build the story of their life, their music, their fulfilled dreams, and yet with a projection into the future. Más de un millón reveals itself as a visual chronicle that ventures itself into an intoxicating and unique aesthetic challenge. Surprises keep emerging, and the cinematographic brushes on both sides of the Río de la Plata bring this documentary closer to a new form of the genre that combines art and memory. LT
