Matías Piñeiro

Born in Buenos Aires in 1982, he studied at Universidad del Cine and later trained in Harvard. He directed El hombre robado (2007), They All Lie (2009), and Viola (winner of BAL 2012 and the Best Actress and FIPRESCI awards at the 15 th Festival), as well as the medium length film Rosalinda (2010), all of them screened at Bafici.

Matt O’Casey

He’s a British filmmaker, scriptwriter, and producer. He has worked almost exclusively within the music documentary genre. He directed over fifteen films and series about great rock bands, several of them for the BBC.

Matthias Huser

He was born in Switzerland in 1979. He trained as a visual artist and filmmaker at the Art and Design University of Zurich and the New South Wales University Dogs (2005; screened in Cannes and Berlin), Ferry Wheel (2008) and Men, Women, Work (2012) are some of his short films. They Chased Me Through Arizona is his first feature-length film. 

Melina Ahumada

She was born in Los Polvorines, in the Buenos Aires province, in 1989. She moved to the country’s capital city and studied Filmmaking at the Film Art Institute in Avellaneda. She wrote Coming Back Alone solo during her first year there, and this is her first short film as a director.

Mich’ael Zupraner

He was born in Beer Sheva, Israel, in 1981. He graduated from the University of Harvard, USA, and currently works as a researcher in the Jan van Eyck Academy. Archaeology is our Nation’s Pastime (2006) and Snow Tapes (2011) are some of his films.

Born in Burma in 1982, he studied filmmaking in Taiwan. He directed the features Return to Burma (2011), Poor Folk (2012) and Ice Poison (Bafici ‘14), as well as such short films as Paloma blanca (2006), Motorcycle Driver (2008) and The Palace on the Sea (2013).

Miguel Llansó

He was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1979. He studied Philosophy and Filmmaking and currently lives six months of the year in Ethiopia. He directed the short films Where Is My Dog? (2010; screened in Rotterdam) and Chigger Ale (2013), screened in Locarno and Bafici, among others.

Miguel Baratta

An Argentine director who graduated from the UBA’s Image and Sound Design major. He made short films and wrote and directed El fruto, his first feature, which premiered in the Official Competition at 2010’s Valencia Film Festival. His short La pesca del cangrejo was screened at Bafici ‘11.

He was born in Buenos Aires in 1974, where he studied film and made some shorts, music videos, TV work and advertisements. Since 2001, he is partially based in Norway, where he has worked as director and screenwriter for film and TV with his production company: Ferryman Film. He is currently preparing the scripts for two feature-film projects.

Naji Abu Nowar

Born in England, he currently resides in Amman, Jordan. He directed the short film Death of a Boxer (2009), which participated in the Dubai Film Festival. Theeb is his first feature-length film, which has traveled to festivals like Venice and Cairo.

Natalia Ferreyra

She’s a Social Communication major. She currently coordinates the communication and press teams of the Cathilic Unversity in Cordoba. She’s also a writer who has published several short stories in different media. This is her first production in the audiovisual field.

He was born in Buenos Aires in 1971. His work as a filmmaker includes the music videos for El otro yo’s Te quiero and Leo García’s Llega la luna. Más de un millón is his first feature.

He was born in Sion, Switzerland, in 1984 and studied Filmmaking in Ludwigsburg, Germany. He works as a drummer, actor, and director. He directed several short films, including Snatch & Kittie - Love Is in the Air (2006) and Blitz und Donner, Windgefauch (2009).  

Nicolás Aponte A. Gutter

He was born in Buenos Aires in 1978. He studied Audiovisual Design at the UBA, where he works as a professor. He was an assistant director in the animated feature La máquina que hace estrellas (Bafici Animado ‘12) and La Tigra, Chaco (2009). He co-directed with Pablo Acosta the short film Ahora es nunca (2014).
